About the Project

GenSTEAMers is an international education project focused on supporting teachers in integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) into STEAM education in meaningful, ethical, and inclusive ways. As artificial intelligence rapidly reshapes how knowledge is created and shared, schools need practical tools and guidance to help teachers navigate these changes and use AI to enrich learning rather than replace critical thinking and creativity.
The project brings together partners from across Europe to develop and test innovative approaches that combine STEAM teaching practices with responsible AI use in classrooms. Through collaboration with educators and schools, GenSTEAMers aims to create resources that help teachers design engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences where students explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics while developing digital and AI literacy.
A key component of the project is the development of a GenSTEAMers Action Plan Kit, which will provide teachers with practical guidance, lesson ideas, and strategies for integrating GenAI tools into classroom practice. Teachers participating in the project will receive training and support, and will pilot these approaches in real classroom environments. Their experiences and feedback will help refine the resources and ensure they are realistic, effective, and adaptable to different educational contexts.
Beyond the classroom, GenSTEAMers focuses on evaluating impact, sharing results, and supporting wider adoption of project outcomes. Through dissemination activities, collaboration with education stakeholders, and the creation of a Community of AI Teaching Practice, the project aims to build a sustainable network of educators interested in exploring responsible and innovative uses of AI in education.
Ultimately, GenSTEAMers seeks to empower teachers and schools to confidently engage with emerging technologies while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and responsible digital citizenship among students.
